Matt Turner has transferred to Lyon from Nottingham Forest, with a direct loan to New England.

Lyon invested eight million euros for the 31-year-old, who has earned 52 caps with the United States.

The deal includes a 10 percent profit-sharing interest on any capital gain from a possible future transfer.

Turneris loaned to the New England Revolution with a purchase option of three million euros.

Turner joined Forest from Arsenal in August 2023 and made 21 appearances across all competitions before moving to Crystal Palace for the 2024/25 season in a one-year loan arrangement.

He contributed to Crystal Palace's victory in their first major trophy by defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley in May.

Lyon also revealed it has loaned Croatian international defender Duje Caleta-Car to Spanish side Real Sociedad for one year, including a four-million-euro purchase option.

The 28-year-old Caleta-Car, who has 33 caps, joined Lyon from Southampton in 2023.
