The latest medal tally from the Swimming World Championships: China leads, diving loses gold, and Pan Zhanle misses the 100m final.

On July 30, Beijing time, the Singapore Swimming World Championships continued with fierce competition, concluding another day of battles. Seven gold medals were awarded that day, swept up by Italy, the USA, Tunisia, Australia, and Russia. Consequently, the latest standings have been updated. Although China did not win any gold medals that day, they still rank first with a total of 12 golds, while Australia closely follows with 8 golds, and Germany remains solidly in third place with 6 golds. The USA has climbed to fourth place, and Russia is in fifth!

The Chinese team ranked first with 12 golds in the previous competition day. However, on this day, our momentum slowed down, and we did not secure any gold medals. In the highly anticipated mixed 3m springboard event, which is one of our key gold-winning events, the duo of Li Yajie and Cheng Zilong suffered a major mishap, resulting in another lost gold and only managing to take home a bronze medal. Li Yajie has now lost two gold medals, proving to be a heavy burden. In swimming events, we achieved 2 silvers and 1 bronze, securing silver in the men's and women's 4X100m medley relay and a bronze in the men's 50m breaststroke. However, the much-anticipated Pan Zhanle shockingly got eliminated in the men's 100m freestyle, which was truly unexpected, as he is the reigning champion of the Paris Olympics!

Australia continued to compete fiercely in swimming events, winning the women's 200m freestyle gold medal, marking their eighth gold of the tournament. Australia now leads the swimming medal tally, surpassing the USA. It must be said that Australia's swimming prowess is truly impressive!

The USA team has seen a decline in dominance during this tournament, particularly in swimming events, with a significant drop in gold-winning capability. However, they managed to secure the men's 200m butterfly gold medal just before the end of the competition day, bringing their total to four golds and moving up to fourth place!

Other national teams saw unexpected results, such as Tunisia from Africa winning the men's 800m freestyle gold medal, marking their first gold of the event. Italy emerged as the big winner of the day, claiming two gold medals, with their first and second golds coming from the men's 50m breaststroke and the mixed 3m springboard, marking a significant breakthrough. Additionally, the neutral team from Russia made a remarkable comeback, overpowering several strong competitors to win the men's and women's 4X100m medley relay, earning their fourth gold of the tournament!
