New addition Roony Bardghji and young talent Pedro Fernández found the net late in the game as Barcelona defeated Vissel Kobe 3-1 in a Sunday friendly.
Marcus Rashford also made his debut as a Barça player during the friendly in Japan, but it was Bardghji, who transferred from FC Copenhagen this summer, along with academy graduate Fernández, who drew the most attention as they turned the match in favor of the Spanish champions in the last 15 minutes.
After 33 minutes, Eric Garcia scored from close range to give the Spanish team the lead. Just before halftime, the hosts equalized when Taisei Miyashiro capitalized on a rebound after goalkeeper Joan García, another player making his Barça debut after joining from rivals Espanyol, saved a shot from Daiju Sasaki.
Coach Hansi Flick substituted all 11 players at halftime, allowing Roony and Marcus Rashford to make their unofficial debuts.
The 19-year-old Swedish winger entered the game in the second half and quickly impressed with his confidence, speed, and direct playing style. His efforts were rewarded in the 77th minute when he regained the lead for Barcelona.
After Rashford found Lewandowski with a precise pass, the Polish striker delivered a perfect ball to Bardghji at the edge of the box.
Roony then calmly placed the ball into the bottom-right corner, demonstrating excellent composure. Prior to this, the Swedish international had already come close to scoring twice.
Initially, a powerful shot just outside the box was blocked by a defender, and later, Bardghji missed a promising chance following a pass from Rashford.
Fernández, a highly regarded 17-year-old from La Masia, also found the net three minutes before the end, firing home from just inside the box to complete a memorable debut for Barcelona.
