What happened to the diving dream team? The women's 1-meter springboard suffered an outrageous mistake, losing the gold, and the mixed 10-meter platform was narrowly won by 0.06 points.

On July 27, Beijing time, the Singapore Swimming World Championships continued fiercely. In a recently concluded mixed 10-meter platform event, the Chinese duo Zhu Yongxin/Xie Peiling, despite a poor first round, staged a comeback and won with a thrilling score of 323.04 points, defeating the North Korean team by a mere 0.06 points to clinch the gold medal. This marks the sixth gold for the Chinese delegation in this event, and the win was truly exhilarating!

Everyone knows that diving is one of our traditional strong events and a major source of gold medals, often referred to as the dream team, with consistently stable performances in past competitions. However, our dominant position has faced significant challenges in this event. So far, there have been 3 gold medals in diving, but we have only secured 2 golds and 1 silver, failing to sweep all three golds, which is clearly unacceptable. Why? Because we lost the gold medal in the women's 1-meter springboard!

The first gold in diving came from the mixed team event, where we had a huge advantage and won decisively without any issues. However, the second gold came from the women's 1-meter springboard, where the double insurance combination made consecutive major mistakes. In the end, their mindset faltered, exposing their inability to handle pressure, resulting in a shocking loss of the gold medal, which was a severe blow for us. The third gold came from the mixed 10-meter platform, where the participating duo made a significant error on their first jump. Fortunately, they managed to withstand the pressure, steadily pursued, and finally achieved a thrilling victory in the fifth round to earn this gold medal!

It seems that our diving team will face significant challenges in this World Championship, as opponents are indeed improving. I hope the diving team can pay attention to their rivals and avoid shocking losses of gold medals. We can no longer sweep 13 golds; securing 12 golds would be acceptable. Keep up the effort, and let's go!
