Liverpool has announced another major signing, acquiring 23-year-old French forward Ekitiqué from Eintracht Frankfurt. He is not yet a French national team player, and the total expenditure by Liverpool is €95 million. As previously reported by Italian journalist Romano, the deal for Ekitiqué includes a fixed fee of €80 million plus €15 million in variable payments, with €5 million of those being challenging conditions to meet.
This summer, Liverpool has suddenly become the richest club, having already signed Florian Plettenberg, Kolkerz, and Wirtz for transfer fees of €40 million, €46.9 million, and €125 million respectively. Adding the cost of signing Ekitiqué, Liverpool has spent over €300 million this summer to acquire four key players.
The 23-year-old Ekitiqué stands at 1.90 meters tall and plays as a right-footed striker, valued at €75 million by transfer market estimates. Last season, he made 48 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt, starting 43 of those, totaling 3,644 minutes on the pitch, contributing 22 goals and 12 assists. Frankfurt signed Ekitiqué for €16.5 million from Paris last summer, and just one season later, they sold him for a total of €95 million, making a significant profit. Ekitiqué has yet to make an appearance for the French national team, having only played five times for the France U21 team.
