Manchester United may struggle to acquire a new striker before the new season! Sesko has been rejected, and Amorim is looking to sign a Premier League player.

Following the signings of Cunha and Mbeumo, Manchester United aims to recruit a new striker. Yet, the Daily Mirror reports that the club thinks it will be challenging to complete a deal soon, with expectations of not securing a new number 9 before the Premier League opener. United's season will start at home against Arsenal on August 17.

Manchester United has already missed out on potential striker targets like Liam Delap, Che Adams, Osimhen, and Ekitike during the summer transfer window. Given their pace in acquiring Cunha and Mbeumo, it is indeed challenging to secure and finalize a new number 9 within the next three weeks.

Recently, rumors suggested that RB Leipzig's talented Benjamin Sesko is willing to join the Red Devils; however, the reality is that the 22-year-old Slovenian forward's chances of joining are quite low. Analysts attribute this to two major obstacles: price and experience.

According to "Sporting News," Manchester United has been interested in Sesko since he was 16. Last summer, the club also engaged with him, and such communications reportedly resumed this summer. The club's transfer negotiation director, Christopher Vivell, is believed to advocate for bringing in Sesko, as he previously worked at Red Bull and was responsible for bringing him to RB Salzburg.

German transfer expert Christian Falk stated: "The Red Devils are not the top choice for the club and the player. However, a key executive is involved in this, and Vivell supports this potential deal. Since April, Vivell has been monitoring the situation closely, attending matches in Leipzig and Wolfsburg to scout Sesko again."

However, Sesko is not highly regarded by more senior figures at Manchester United. Firstly, his costs are high, particularly the hefty transfer fee, which is considered out of line with the club's budget. Additionally, Sesko's performance of 13 goals in the Bundesliga last season is seen as not justifying such a high price tag.

Reports indicate that Leipzig hopes to sell Sesko for £87 million (€100 million), although there are rumors suggesting that a deal could be struck for only £60 million. However, from the negotiations for Cunha and Mbeumo, it is evident that the Red Devils' transfer team does not have much bargaining power.

Moreover, Ruben Amorim prefers a more experienced striker; Sesko is younger than the current Hojlund and Cirkzee and lacks any experience in English football.

Manchester United has faced significant setbacks in acquiring young players at high prices, and the likelihood of Leipzig players becoming "flops" post-transfer is not lower than that of players from Dortmund or Frankfurt. In the Premier League, Nkunku and Werner serve as two prime examples.

Therefore, Manchester United is more likely to choose to bring in a new striker from the Premier League, such as Watkins from Aston Villa or Jackson from Chelsea. The former may only require £50 million, while the latter is priced at £80 million but could lower actual costs through a swap involving Garnacho. Both are willing to join the Red Devils, and Villa and Chelsea may also agree to the transactions.

Additionally, there are rumors that Mateta from Crystal Palace and Evaniilson from Bournemouth are also on the radar, but Mateta is believed to be leaning towards AC Milan, while the "Cherries" are not very willing to sell Evaniilson. Watkins scored 16 goals in the Premier League last season, while Mateta netted 14, and both Jackson and Evaniilson scored 10 goals each.

After spending over £130 million on signings, Manchester United needs to raise funds through player sales for upcoming transactions. Unfortunately, the sale of players has not gone smoothly; the only confirmed transfer is Rashford, who will be loaned to Barcelona next season, bringing no income. Transfers for Sancho, Garnacho, Antony, and Malacia have not seen any significant developments.
