Following the media-driven exclusion of Dunajska Streda, the Union of League Clubs initiated an internal discussion at the Presidium level of the ÚLK. They voted on a possible replacement for DAC, which could fill the vacant position of the Slovak representative in the European competition. All clubs in the Nike Liga participated in the vote, with the majority opting for Košice , the highest-ranked team in the league that did not qualify for Europe, to claim the spot.
In addition to the vote on the potential replacement, the clubs also discussed how to handle this situation should it arise again in the future.
If a Slovak club is ever excluded from a UEFA club competition again, the replacement team would automatically be the highest positioned team overall in the league table from the previous season.
The ruling from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne came first, where DAC appealed UEFA's decision. On Monday, it was determined that they would not participate in the UEFA Conference League due to a violation of the multi-club ownership rule. UEFA began investigating the matter before the draw of the first round of the competition, and Dunajská Streda was expected to enter from the second round.
