Rashford's season reimbursement may affect Manchester United's record transfer deal! It has its eyes set on England

Manchester United want to sell Rashford to Aston Villa or other interested clubs. If the £40 million buy-out clause materialises, it would be the highest transfer fee ever earned by a Red Devils academy player. At present, this record still belongs to the 37 million euros transfer of David Beckham to Real Madrid at the beginning of the century, which also highlights the low level of players sold by the club.

The sale of Marcus Rashford for £40 million would be the maximum transfer fee for a Manchester United Academy graduate. This would also be good for complying with the Premier League's PSR profitability and sustainability rules, but Marcus Rashford's unexpected injury, especially with the possibility of a season reimbursement, is a big blow to the Red Devils.

Marcus Rashford missed Villa's 3-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend, with boss Unai Emery explaining: 'He's injured and in training this week, we had a check-up yesterday and he has a hamstring strain and won't be available for the next few weeks.

The 27-year-old, who will not need surgery, will have a scan this week to assess the recovery of his hamstring and determine if he can compete again this season. The Athletic's David Ornstein has revealed that Manchester United's star is likely to be reimbursed for the season and that he is aiming to play in England in June.

Ornstein said: 'Marcus Rashford is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury and Villa will not have surgery and rehabilitation for him and is still undergoing testing. A Premier League clash with Tottenham is not entirely out of the question, but with the season coming to an early end and the 27-year-old will focus on recovering for the England game in June."

ESPN reports that an initial check was that Marcus Rashford would be out for around a month, and if that happens, he will certainly miss out on all the club games remaining this season. Even if he can make an early comeback, it will be difficult to compete again. Because of his status as a loan player, he will inevitably miss the final round of away games against Manchester United.

The match against Tottenham is the last hope for now, with the Premier League currently scheduled for May 18. However, if Tottenham reach the Europa League final on 21 May, they may request to be brought forward to 15 May to allow more time to prepare for the final. That would leave Rashford with less time.

A source told ESPN that Villa and Manchester United's medical team are in contact to develop their rehabilitation plans. The player himself would all hope to be fit and back to play for England before the international break in June. Sources reiterated that Marcus Rashford believes he has no future under Manchester United boss Amorim and plans to move to a Champions League club in the summer.

Villa are still undecided whether to activate their £40million permanent transfer option, having made 17 appearances during his loan spell, contributing four goals and six assists. In recent weeks, Unai Emery has opted for Marcus Rashford to play as a centre-forward, leading Watkins to admit to being angry. Marcus Rashford repaid Emery's faith by being on a hot and unstoppable run in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain, as well as netting from the penalty spot against Manchester City last week.

If Rashford is not injured and continues to perform well to help Villa qualify for the Champions League again, then he could be bought out, but now that he is out injured, the story could be rewritten.
