The Vietnam national team arrived in Hanoi after their opening match at the 2026 ASEAN Championship, a 7-0 victory over Timor Leste at Chonburi Stadium (Thailand).

Immediately after returning, the entire squad settled into their accommodation to begin preparations for hosting Singapore on July 31.

This very morning, Coach Kim Sang-sik's team will resume training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

The coaching staff will focus on helping players recover physically while implementing tactical drills to best prepare for the match against Singapore.

"The positive point is that not only did we get all three points in the opening match, but the Vietnam team also suffered no injuries.

All the professional and tactical objectives set by Coach Kim Sang-sik were achieved. However, the team still has a long journey ahead, so we ask the players to stay focused, handle each match well, maintain discipline and unity to reach the final goal," said VFF Vice President and Team Leader Tran Anh Tu.

Thai Son Bac made history by claiming the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship, ending a 16-year journey of relentless building and development.

In the final round on July 25, the capital club showed overwhelming strength with a 6-0 win over Tan Hiep Hung HCMC, thereby securing top spot and officially ascending to the pinnacle of Vietnamese futsal.

Thai Son Bac's victory was even more meaningful as the title race was only decided in the final round. Although Thai Son Nam HCMC also fulfilled their duty with a 4-2 win over Sahako, a one-point gap on the table was enough for Thai Son Bac to claim their first-ever championship.

The 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship took place from May 9 to July 25 with 8 teams, delivering many exciting matches and improved professional quality thanks to a policy allowing each club to register one foreign player and one Vietnamese-origin player.

According to the organizers, Thai Son Bac will represent Vietnamese futsal at the 2027 AFC Futsal Club Championship, while Thai Son Nam HCMC earned the right to participate in the 2027 ASEAN Futsal Club Championship if they meet the licensing criteria of AFC and AFF.

U23 Vietnam gathers for Asiad preparation.

Just days before gathering for the men's football at the 2026 Asian Games, several U23 Vietnam players experienced contrasting emotions in the 2026 National U21 Championship final between U21 Song Lam Nghe An and U21 The Cong Viettel at PVF Stadium (Hung Yen).

Among the 9 U23 Vietnam players involved in the match, U21 The Cong Viettel had 6 names: Nguyen Manh Hung, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Dang Tuan Phong, Nguyen Hoang Khanh, Tran Duc Duy, and Vu Quoc Anh. U21 Song Lam Nghe An contributed 3 players: goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, center-back Le Nguyen Hoang, and Nguyen Quang Vinh.

U21 Song Lam Nghe An won 1-0 to claim the title, ending a 12-year wait and equaling the record of 6 championships held by U21 Hanoi.

The U21 The Cong Viettel players had to miss out on the championship just before joining the national team camp.

Hanoi Police FC (CAHN) has just announced the signing of overseas Vietnamese defender Kevin Pham Ba.

Born in 1994, Kevin Pham Ba is 1.81 m tall and came through the renowned Sochaux academy in France.

Playing primarily as a right-back, Kevin Pham Ba is highly regarded for his excellent physical foundation, modern defensive abilities, and versatility in tactical execution.

Besides his defensive role, the 32-year-old can also effectively support attacks with overlapping runs and contribute to ball progression from the back.

The arrival of Kevin Pham Ba is expected to enhance quality and squad depth, as well as provide additional competition on the right flank for Coach Mano Polking.
