Singapore vs East Timor: Class difference

Singapore will host East Timor at 18:00 on 27/7 (Vietnam time) at Jalan Besar Stadium, in the second round of Group A of AFF Cup 2026. The "Lions" enter the match with a morale boost after a 2-1 win over Cambodia. However, the performance of coach Gavin Lee's men was not entirely convincing as they were pressured by the opponent at many points and only secured all three points thanks to a spectacular goal by Ilhan Fandi in the 90+11th minute. Therefore, hosting East Timor is an opportunity for Singapore to improve their play, while accumulating points and goal difference ahead of tough matches against Vietnam and Indonesia.

Cambodia enter the match empty-handed after a 1-2 defeat to Singapore, but coach Koji Gyotoku's side still showed many positive signs.
