Thai Son Bac were crowned champions at the 2026 National Futsal Championship.

Heading into the decisive round, the title race was a two-way contest between Thai Son Bac and defending champions Thai Son Nam (Ho Chi Minh City). Holding a one-point lead with 34 points, Thai Son Bac controlled their own destiny and preserved their slender advantage by winning the final match. Through disciplined, effective, and composed play, they finished the season with 37 points after 14 rounds, exactly one point ahead of Thai Son Nam, to officially be crowned the 2026 champions.

In the final match, despite being fifth on the table with 16 points, Tan Hiep Hung started with determination, adopting a counter-attacking defensive style that caused considerable difficulties for Thai Son Bac in the opening minutes. However, with a quality squad and superior ball control, Thai Son Bac gradually took command of the game. In the fifth minute, from a combination on the right flank, Nguyen Trong Kien delivered a favorable cross for Trinh Cong Dai to cut in and finish, beating the goalkeeper to open the scoring at 1-0 for Thai Son Bac.

In the second half, foreign import Jediael Mota capitalized on a free kick to double Thai Son Bac's lead. Falling behind, Tan Hiep Hung pushed forward and employed a power-play strategy in search of a goal. However, pulling the goalkeeper for the power-play repeatedly left them exposed in front of their own goal. Taking full advantage of counter-attacking opportunities, Thai Son Bac scored four more goals in the closing minutes to seal an impressive 6-0 victory. Among them, Trinh Cong Dai netted a hat-trick, while Jediael Mota, Le Quang Vinh, and Nguyen Trong Kien also found the net.

As champions, Thai Son Bac received the trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of 500 million VND. Alongside the team honor, Tu Quang Minh was voted the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Thai Son Bac will also represent Vietnamese futsal at the 2027 AFC Futsal Club Championship if they meet all the licensing criteria of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Meanwhile, runners-up Thai Son Nam will compete in the 2027 ASEAN Futsal Club Championship.

The 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship took place from May 9 to July 25 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, featuring eight participating teams in a total of 56 matches. This tenth edition, co-organized by Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), and HDBank, continued to be marked by a thrilling title race that went down to the final round, while reaffirming its status as Vietnam's leading professional futsal competition, contributing to raising the sport's professional quality and providing resources for the national futsal team.
