CAHN targets Brazilian center-back who once played for arch-rival Hanoi?

Adriel Silva is reportedly on the radar of Hanoi Police, opening the possibility of the Brazilian center-back playing in the capital after leaving Hanoi FC.

Adriel Silva is being mentioned as a potential target for Hanoi Police as the V.League champions refine their squad for the 2026/27 season. If pursued, this would be a notable deal as the Brazilian center-back has just concluded his stint with Hanoi FC and could continue to be associated with the capital's football scene.

The 1997-born player bids farewell to Hanoi FC after the 2025/26 season alongside Daniel Passira and Luiz Fernando. During his one-year stint with the purple-clad team, Adriel made 18 appearances in the V.League. This period helped him better understand the pace of play, pitch conditions, and specific demands of Vietnamese football.

That could be a factor making Adriel a worthwhile option. Compared to bringing in a completely new foreign player, selecting someone who has already spent a season in the V.League often reduces adaptation time. Adriel is also no stranger to life in Hanoi, which could allow him to quickly integrate if a new career turn arises.

Before coming to Vietnam, the 1.84m tall center-back previously played for Gainare Tottori in Japan, Austria Lustenau and Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz in Austria. He once won the Austrian second division with Austria Lustenau to earn promotion, then spent two seasons with Bregenz, making 40 appearances and scoring four goals. That record shows Adriel has experience in various environments.

When joining Hanoi FC, Adriel once shared: “For me, playing in a foreign country is not a big issue. I believe I will quickly adapt to the environment and playing style here.” That confidence could continue to be a plus if the Brazilian center-back is given a chance at another ambitious capital club.

The possibility of Hanoi Police considering another center-back also has a personnel basis. Hugo Gomes has left the club after two seasons, ending his tenure with 35 appearances and seven goals in all competitions. The departure of the Brazilian player forces CAHN to rethink their defensive structure before the new season.

The police force club then added Frans Putros, a player who can fulfill multiple roles such as center-back, full-back, and defensive midfielder. However, having to allocate resources for the V.League, National Cup, and international competitions may prompt the coaching staff to continue seeking more depth.

Adriel may not be a name that creates a huge media buzz, but he carries the profile of a pragmatic signing: familiar with the V.League, possesses international experience, and does not have to start the adaptation process from scratch. In a long season with a high density of matches, the ability to maintain stability among the rotation players can become a key factor.

At 29, Adriel still has enough time to seek a new chapter after a season that wasn't really outstanding at Hanoi FC. His tackling ability, experience playing in Austria, and understanding of the Vietnamese football environment could help this center-back become a suitable option for a team needing a thicker defensive squad.

The future of Adriel Silva is thus opening a notable turn. After leaving Hanoi FC, the Brazilian center-back could continue to stay in the capital, but this time in the colors of a club aiming for bigger goals.
