Hanoi Police Club signs Iraqi World Cup participant

Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) confirmed today, July 24, the acquisition of Frans Putros, a defender for the Iraqi national team, as part of their continued squad reinforcement before the 2026/2027 campaign.

Born in 1993, standing 1.81m tall, Frans Putros joined the capital club after leaving Persib Bandung (Indonesia). Previously, the player of Iraqi-Danish descent had played for several clubs in Denmark and Thailand before moving to Indonesia. Notably, Putros recently participated in the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals with the Iraqi national team, where he started in some matches at the world's biggest football stage.

Putros's strength lies in his versatility, as he can effectively play both center-back and defensive midfielder. With extensive international experience, the 33-year-old is expected to bring solidity, composure, and leadership to the defense of the reigning V.League champions.

Frans Putros is also one of CAHN's most notable signings in this summer transfer window. Previously, the club retained most of the core that won the 2025/2026 V.League title, while continuing to add new players to defend their domestic crown and compete in international tournaments in the 2026/2027 season.

As of now, CAHN's squad still includes many national team players such as Nguyễn Filip, Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh, Vũ Văn Thanh, Đoàn Văn Hậu, Nguyễn Quang Hải, Nguyễn Hai Long, Phan Văn Đức, Nguyễn Đình Bắc, and striker Alan Grafite.

The arrival of Frans Putros gives head coach Mano Polking an additional quality option in the backline, especially as the team faces a busy schedule across multiple competitions.
