Round 13 of the 2026 National Futsal Championship: An Exciting Title Race

On the afternoon of July 20, the last two fixtures of Round 13 in the 2026 National Futsal Championship ended with wins for Thai Son Nam HCMC and Sahako. This outcome helped Thai Son Nam HCMC keep a one-point deficit behind table-toppers Thai Son Bac, thereby pushing the championship battle to the very last round.

After Thai Son Bac defeated Saigon Titans the previous day, Thai Son Nam HCMC had to secure all three points against Tre HCMC to keep their hopes of defending the title alive. With superior squad depth, the reigning champions quickly took control of the game and applied heavy pressure on the opponent's goal.

In the 12th minute, Minh Man opened the scoring with a header for Thai Son Nam HCMC. However, less than a minute later, Tre HCMC responded as Chi Bao slotted home a diagonal shot to level the score at 1-1. In the 16th minute, Anh Duy sprinted down the right flank before delivering a cross for Tien Hung to tap in from close range, restoring Thai Son Nam HCMC's lead.

In the second half, Tre HCMC continued to show their fighting spirit. In the 27th minute, from a free kick taken by Ba Manh, Minh Thuc scored with a precise finish, bringing the match back to a 2-2 draw.

Nevertheless, the reigning champions showed their experience at the right time. Just seconds after the equalizer, Thinh Phat fired a decisive shot right in front of goal to put Thai Son Nam HCMC ahead 3-2. In the 34th minute, Thanh Phong added another goal before Gia Hung scored with a header in the closing minutes to seal a 5-2 victory.

This result lifted Thai Son Nam HCMC's total points to 33, keeping them just one point behind Thai Son Bac with only one round remaining. In the other match, Sahako delivered an explosive performance, crushing Luxury Ha Long 14-0. Tuan Vu and Le Bo each scored a brace, while Dang Hung netted a hat-trick. The remaining goals were scored by Huy Hao, Moreira, Quang Toan (2 goals), Tuan Viet, Anh Vu, and Nie K'Dam.

With the emphatic win over Luxury Ha Long, Sahako climbed to third place in the standings with 26 points, overtaking Saigon Titans thanks to a three-point lead ahead of the final round. Given the current situation, the championship race of the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship can only be decided in Round 14. Thai Son Bac hold their destiny in their own hands, leading Thai Son Nam HCMC by one point before facing Tan Hiep Hung HCMC. Meanwhile, the defending champions must beat Sahako and hope their rivals slip up to have any chance of retaining the title.
