MU is facing a wave of intense criticism from fan clubs after thousands of season ticket accounts were restricted in the anti-scalping campaign.

This move has led many long-time fans to feel they are being treated like "suspects" despite no clear evidence of wrongdoing.

According to British media, the Old Trafford club has locked or restricted accounts that showed signs of sharing login information with more than six different people. This is part of the campaign to prevent ticket touting and illegal ticket sales.

However, many sources indicate that professional scalpers are hardly affected as they use sophisticated methods to bypass the club's control systems. Meanwhile, many loyal fans have become victims of this very campaign.

A season ticket holder of 22 years shared on social media X that he received a warning email from Man Utd and risks losing his season ticket. The fan said he has followed the team in every home and away match, attended over 75 European away trips, but now it could all end just because he once helped his mother forward a ticket.

The wave of discontent has led all major Man Utd fan clubs to jointly sign a statement for the first time in history, protesting the club's handling of the situation.

In the statement, the fan clubs affirmed they fully support cracking down on ticket touting and those profiting from the ticket system. However, they emphasized that all measures must ensure fairness, transparency, and proportionality.

According to fan groups, those who have been with Man Utd for decades, even across multiple generations in the same family, should not be treated as "suspects" without concrete evidence, clear explanation, or an opportunity to defend themselves.

The fan clubs believe the current approach creates a feeling that the club is applying a "punish first, ask questions later" principle, eroding the trust built between the team and fans over decades.

They also call on Man Utd to suspend the suspension or cancellation of season tickets while both sides engage in dialogue to find a more reasonable solution.

According to Man Utd, the system will consider an account being logged in by seven different people as a suspicious sign potentially linked to ticket scalping. However, the club affirms that simple cases such as a relative logging in on behalf will not automatically be flagged as a violation.

The Old Trafford club emphasizes that all ticket purchases, transfers, or management must be done through the club's official channels rather than sharing login accounts.

Man Utd also denies suspicions that this campaign is aimed at reducing the number of season ticket holders or increasing revenue. According to the club, any season tickets revoked will be reissued to those on the waiting list for season tickets.

A Man Utd representative said the anti-scalping campaign is still ongoing, so specific figures cannot be released yet. Affected fans have all received requests to provide information and will only be penalized after responding or after the 14-day deadline without explanation.

The club also affirms that if the account holder provides a reasonable explanation, they will not face any disciplinary action. According to Man Utd, the campaign's goal is to protect the transparency of the ticket system and eliminate those who exploit fans' demand for profit.
