Morgan Rogers stated that Chelsea is the greatest club in London following the completion of a £117 million deal, making him the most costly English footballer ever.
Midfielder Morgan Rogers asserted that Chelsea is the largest club in London after officially becoming the English player with the highest transfer fee in history, thanks to a £117 million move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea snatched the deal from Arsenal in the race to sign the England international, initiating negotiations just one day after England's semi-final defeat to Argentina at the World Cup.

Sources from Arsenal indicate the club was only willing to spend a maximum of £80 million on the 23-year-old midfielder. However, Chelsea quickly reached an agreement with Aston Villa, making Rogers the most expensive signing in the club's history, surpassing the £106 million paid for Enzo Fernandez in 2023.
After the deal was announced, Rogers shared: "I'm really excited. For me, Chelsea is the biggest club in London and the team I've always admired since I was a child."
"I'm thrilled about the project under the new manager, with the players we have and the club's development direction. That's why I'm here, and I can't wait to get started," Rogers continued.
Rogers will reunite with his close friend Cole Palmer and join Chelsea's promising attack, which includes names like Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian, under the guidance of manager Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea had been monitoring Rogers for over two years, and with full support from Alonso, the London club finally completed the biggest transfer of this summer's window.
Rogers signed a six-year contract, running until 2032, with an option to extend for an additional year.
On Friday, the player directly spoke with manager Alonso and agreed on personal terms. As a result, the deal was nearly finalized within just 48 hours.
Middlesbrough will receive a significant sum from Aston Villa's sale of Rogers, thanks to a 20% sell-on clause included in the 2024 transfer agreement.
According to reports, the percentage is calculated on the profit. Middlesbrough originally sold Rogers to Aston Villa for £8 million, plus up to £7 million in add-ons, and is now expected to receive an additional £20 million from this transfer.
Chelsea captain Reece James is said to have actively persuaded Rogers to join Stamford Bridge while both were on duty with the England national team during the World Cup.
After the World Cup, Rogers will have about three weeks of rest as per usual practice before joining Chelsea. He is expected to meet his new teammates only after the team finishes their pre-season tour in Australia and Asia. Chelsea will depart for Sydney this weekend.
