FA Cup: Taishan 6-5 Three Towns, Twice Comeback + Penalty Shootout Victory; Tongliang Dragon 2-0 Ten-Man West Coast

On July 21, Beijing time, two additional FA Cup Round of 16 matches took place. Shandong Taishan and Chongqing Tongliang Dragon booked their places in the quarter-finals by defeating Wuhan Three Towns and Qingdao West Coast respectively.

In the 20th minute, Xu Haofeng delivered a precise cross from the right, and Long Wei headed home from the center of the box, giving Wuhan Three Towns the lead.

In the 30th minute, Liu Yang accidentally handled the ball while contesting a header. After VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty to Three Towns. However, Adriano's spot-kick was brilliantly saved by Yu Jinyong.

In the 71st minute, Kazaisvili assisted from a corner kick, and Liu Yang scored with a header, equalizing for Taishan.

In the 90th minute, Three Towns thought they had scored. Bevis slotted home on the counterattack, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

In the 114th minute of extra time, Adriano delivered a cross, and Cadiz headed in to put Three Towns ahead again.

In the 117th minute, Crysan curled a shot into the far corner from the box, equalizing for Taishan once more.

In the ensuing penalty shootout, Taishan scored 4 out of 5, while Three Towns scored 3 out of 5. Taishan won the shootout 4-3, advancing with a 6-5 aggregate. In the quarter-finals, they will face Shanghai Port.

In the 21st minute, Xiang Yuwang crossed the ball, and Du Yuezheng curled a right-footed shot that deflected and nestled into the top corner, leaving Li Hao helpless. Tongliang Dragon took the lead.

In the 43rd minute, Ding Haifeng stamped on Xiang Yuwang. The referee reviewed the VAR at the sideline and sent him off, leaving West Coast with 10 men.

After the break, in the 68th minute, Xiang Yuwang's one-on-one shot hit the post, and Du Yuezheng followed up to score his second goal, making it 2-0 for Tongliang Dragon.

In the end, Tongliang Dragon successfully held on to the lead until the final whistle. After advancing to the quarter-finals, Chongqing Tongliang Dragon will face the winner between Chengdu Rongcheng and Yunnan Yukun.
