Following their journey from Hanoi to Bangkok, Thailand, the Vietnam national team has arrived in Chonburi, the venue for the opening match of the 2026 ASEAN Championship.

Per the coaching staff's plan, the players will hold practice sessions on the competition field to acclimate to the weather, pitch, and refine tactical approaches. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will utilize the remaining time to evaluate the roster, gauge player fitness, and choose the best starting eleven for the first game.

As the reigning champions, Vietnam's national team seeks a good start to gain momentum for defending their crown in the regional competition. The game against Timor Leste is considered a chance for Kim Sang Sik's squad to get their first three points and gain an edge in the group standings.

Per the fixture list, the clash between Vietnam and Timor Leste is set for July 24 at Chonburi Stadium. Following that, the team will proceed in Group A facing Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

The national futsal championship race is about to be decided.

Round 13 of the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship concluded with thrilling action, as Thai Son Nam TP.HCM and Sahako both secured victories, leaving the title race to be determined in the last round.

Following Thai Son Bac's win over Sai Gon Titans, which temporarily extended their lead, Thai Son Nam TP.HCM were under pressure to earn a full three points against Tre TP.HCM.

The defending champions fulfilled their mission with a 5-2 win. Despite being held to 2-2 in the second half, Thai Son Nam TP.HCM quickly showed their mettle by scoring three straight goals to claim a crucial victory. This result brought their points total to 33, trailing Thai Son Bac by only one point heading into the final round.

In the other match, Sahako demonstrated dominance by demolishing Luxury Ha Long 14-0. Dang Hung netted a hat-trick, and Tuan Vu, Le Bo, and Quang Toan each bagged a double, propelling Sahako to third place with 26 points.

In the 14th round, Thai Son Bac control their own fate in the championship race, requiring only a positive outcome against Tan Hiep Hung TP.HCM. Meanwhile, Thai Son Nam TP.HCM must beat Sahako and rely on their opponent stumbling to retain the crown.

Overseas Vietnamese from Belgium, Lenn Minh Tran, has joined Cong An TP.HCM club.

MVV Maastricht's official site has announced that Vietnamese-origin defender Lenn Minh Tran will depart the Dutch side to join Cong An TP.HCM starting from the 2026/27 season.

In the early match, U21 Hanoi displayed their dominance by defeating U21 SHB Da Nang 2-0. The capital side controlled the tempo for most of the match and capitalized on chances to net two goals, thus securing a spot among the tournament's top four.

The match between U21 The Cong Viettel and U21 PVF-CAND was intense and thrilling, exactly as anticipated.

After a goalless draw at full time, the sides proceeded to a tense penalty shootout. With nerve and precision from 12 yards, The Cong Viettel emerged victorious, becoming the second team to advance to the semifinals.

The last two places in the semifinals will be decided following the remaining quarterfinal games.
