President of the Vietnam Football Federation attends the 2026 World Cup final

Tran Quoc Tuan, the VFF President, attended the 2026 World Cup final at MetLife Stadium after receiving an invitation from the FIFA President.

Accepting the invitation from FIFA President Gianni Infantino, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan traveled to the United States to witness the match, the closing ceremony, and the awarding of the 2026 World Cup trophy, held at MetLife Stadium (USA) between two top global teams.: Argentina and Spain.

Within the event's framework, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan took part in a reception for leaders of FIFA's member associations. Besides the speeches from the FIFA President, officials from member associations had an additional opportunity to exchange views on the development directions of football in their respective countries.

Earlier, the VFF President also attended the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico. The presence of the VFF leader at both the opening and final matches of the planet's biggest football festival is not merely a diplomatic formality but also demonstrates the credibility of Vietnamese football in the eyes of international organizations.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan currently holds several key roles in international football organizations: Member of the FIFA National Team Competitions Committee; Member of the AFC Executive Committee, Chairman of the AFC and AFF Competitions Committee, and also a member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term. Most recently, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan was entrusted by the AFC with the position of Head of the Men's Football Management Board for the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.
