2026 Asian Games Women's Football Draw: Vietnam Women's Team in Pot 3

The organizers of the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 2026) revealed the seeded groups for women's football before the draw scheduled for July 23. Vietnam's women's team is in Pot 3, which promises a tough group stage ahead.

According to the seeding list, Pot 1 consists of hosts Japan, China, and South Korea. These are all top powerhouses in Asian women's football, meaning Vietnam's women's team will inevitably face one of these three opponents in the group stage.

Pot 2 includes North Korea, the Philippines, and Chinese Taipei. Meanwhile, Pot 4 comprises Myanmar, Thailand, and Hong Kong (China).

Being in Pot 3 helps Coach Hoang Van Phuc's squad avoid Uzbekistan and Bangladesh in the group stage. However, the possibility of landing in a very tough group still exists if the draw pits Vietnam against Japan or South Korea along with North Korea.
