Tuan Hai unexpectedly parts ways with Hanoi FC, his next destination surprises fans.

Hanoi FC has officially confirmed saying goodbye to Pham Tuan Hai, closing a chapter of many triumphs for the Vietnamese forward in the club's colors.

On the afternoon of July 18, Hanoi FC confirmed that Pham Tuan Hai will leave the club after more than four years with the team. On the club's official fanpage, the capital club expressed gratitude to the 28-year-old striker.

The position of the 28-year-old striker changed significantly in the past season. Tuan Hai played 25 matches but only had nine starts, scored four goals and provided one assist.

Under coach Harry Kewell, the Vietnamese international was no longer given regular opportunities. He often had to start from the bench and no longer played a key role as in previous seasons.

Having come through Hanoi's youth system, Pham Tuan Hai returned to Hanoi FC at the end of 2021 and began playing for the first team from the 2022 season, after a standout period at Hong Linh Ha Tinh.

The young striker quickly proved his worth in his first season. He played 30 matches, scored 13 goals and provided three assists across all competitions.

Tuan Hai's contributions helped the club complete a domestic treble in 2022, including the V.League, National Cup, and Super Cup titles. He was also selected for the Team of the Season.

In the 2023 season, the 1998-born striker continued to maintain consistent form with seven goals and five assists in 21 appearances. He made the Best XI of the league for the second consecutive year.

This was also the period when Tuan Hai made a clear mark in the Vietnam national team. His outstanding performances at both club and international levels helped him win the Vietnam Silver Ball award in 2023.

In the 2023/24 season, Tuan Hai scored 12 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions. Notably, he found the net four times in the AFC Champions League.

The striker from Ha Nam played a key role in two memorable victories of Hanoi FC against Wuhan Three Towns and Urawa Red Diamonds at My Dinh Stadium. This is considered one of his most outstanding highlights during his time with the capital club.

After a total of 132 appearances, Tuan Hai scored 42 goals for Hanoi FC. He leaves Hang Day Stadium with a notable collection of trophies and a special place in the successful journey of the purple shirts in recent years.

Leaving the capital club marks a major turning point in Tuan Hai's career. After a season in which he no longer played regularly, the decision to leave could open up an opportunity for the 28-year-old striker to regain his status and a chance to return to the Vietnam national team.
