Indonesian fans react strongly as Vietnam wins 4-0 before the AFF Cup

Vietnam's national team beat Myanmar 4-0 in a friendly, further proving their power before the 2026 AFF Cup and earning many compliments from Indonesian supporters.

Vietnam took the initiative from the start and opened the scoring in the 5th minute, when Hoang Hen crossed the ball for Tai Loc to set it up, creating an opportunity for Xuan Son to unleash a sharp volley. After that, Vietnam kept up the pressure, especially from set pieces, with Xuan Son repeatedly threatening Myanmar's goal. Although the visitors gradually improved, Vietnam's defense held firm, and then Xuan Manh leaped high to head home a second goal in the 39th minute from a free kick taken by Tien Anh.

In the second half, Vietnam continued to control the game and stepped up the pressure before Hoang Hen scored his first goal for the team in the 59th minute with a tricky low strike from outside the box. Despite leading 3-0, coach Kim Sang-sik bolstered the attack by bringing on Dinh Bac and Hai Long, while goalkeeper Le Giang also made a vital save during a Myanmar counterattack. In the 90th minute, Dinh Bac was fouled inside the penalty area and he successfully converted the resulting spot kick, securing a 4-0 victory for the Vietnam national team.

Witnessing Vietnam's performance, many Indonesian fans quickly shared positive reactions on social media. One supporter wrote: “Vietnam is truly too strong. They have three naturalized Brazilian players—Xuan Son, Hoang Hen, and Tai Loc—and the quality of their attack has clearly been greatly improved.”

Another fan was especially impressed by Xuan Son and Hoang Hen: “Two of the three naturalized players scored. This is excellent preparation by Vietnam.”

Many also commended the way Vietnam scored their goals: “Vietnam remains extremely dangerous from set pieces, but they can also score through combination plays and long-range shots. It's very hard for opponents to read them.”

Another comment remarked: “Myanmar tried their best, but Vietnam controlled the match too well. They have many ways to create goals.”

Even an Indonesian fan warned other regional rivals: “If Vietnam maintains this form, they will be a very formidable contender at the 2026 AFF Cup.”

With the 4-0 win over Myanmar, the Vietnam national team continues to send positive signals ahead of the regional tournament.
