Two days before the 2026 World Cup final, a football atmosphere has enveloped the capital Buenos Aires as Fan Fest areas and public venues familiar to fans are ready to welcome the wave of supporters coming to watch the clash between Argentina and Spain.

According to the city government, the Fan Fest at Seeber Square (Palermo) will remain open until the end of July 19, featuring two large LED screens, a food court, a performance stage, and entertainment activities for fans. Organizers expect this to be the largest gathering point for supporters during the final.

In addition to the Fan Fest in Palermo, the Obelisco area — a symbol of Buenos Aires and the site of Argentina's biggest football celebrations — is also on standby. After the semifinal against England, tens of thousands of people gathered there to celebrate the victory, and city authorities deployed police forces, traffic barriers, and crowd control measures. A similar security plan will be implemented during the final to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Authorities have also deployed medical teams, rescue services, traffic control, and camera surveillance systems in crowded areas. Residents are advised to use public transportation as many roads around Obelisco and Palermo may be restricted if the number of people gathering becomes too large.

Regarding the weather, Argentina's meteorological agency forecasts that Buenos Aires on the day of the final will have winter temperatures ranging from 10-16°C, partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with no signs of heavy rain, providing favorable conditions for fans to watch the match outdoors. Meanwhile, in the New York-New Jersey area, where the final is being held, there is still a possibility of rain and effects from smoke from wildfires in Canada.

After defeating England in the semifinal, belief in a fourth world championship is spreading across Argentina. Many local newspapers note that Buenos Aires has completed all preparations for a football night expected to make history in the land of tango.
