On July 17, Beijing time, a video shared by a user on social media exposed that 53-year-old former national footballer Shen Si struck a young trainee player while teaching.

According to the exposed footage, Shen Si slapped a young player with such force that the player staggered back several steps and nearly lost his balance.

Based on the player's parent's complaint, Shen Si beat his son on July 12: "We can no longer endure this. He is still a minor. How can you repeatedly hit him so hard? His face has visible palm prints. He went to the training camp to improve himself, not to be your outlet for venting."

The parent also condemned Shen Si: "As an unlicensed coach serving as head coach of the 2013 team, you are a man in his 50s, a public figure, and a club owner. You should use your wisdom, experience, and ability to guide these children, earn the respect of an elder, and regardless of results, be true to your conscience, to the children, and to the parents. Be an upright person, leading the coaches and children to chase dreams." The parent also asked everyone to help share the post to give his child a voice.

According to media reports, during his coaching tenure, Shen Si slapped young players more than twenty times in three days, causing facial bruising, which finally drove the parents to file a police report in anger.

Media figure Miao Yuan also confirmed that Shen Si has been like this for over a decade, inheriting a traditionally strict coaching style. The player reported to the police last week and also posted a video accusing Shanghai Lucky Star of illegal operations. Shen Si physically and mentally tortured the players, and they are calling on the Chinese Football Association to uphold justice.

Born on May 1, 1973, Shen Si spent much of his playing career with Shanghai Shenhua, renowned for his exceptional "golden left foot." As a former national team star, he made 39 appearances for the national team, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists.
Shen Si was involved in taking money to fix matches in the final season of the Chinese Jia-A League. In 2012, he was sentenced to six years in prison for bribery, with a fine of 500,000 yuan. He was imprisoned along with Jiang Jin, Qi Hong, and others, though they have all been released.
It is worth noting that although Shen Si is banned from participating in football activities for life, he remains a partner of Shanghai Lucky Star Club. Over the years, he has continued to contribute to Chinese football through youth training.
