Hanoi Police Football Club has officially confirmed the appointment of Mr. P. Mourinho to the role of Assistant Head Coach.

Hanoi Police Football Club officially confirms the appointment of Mr. Paulo Mourinho as the assistant head coach. The Portuguese manager will work within the coaching staff under the leadership of Head Coach Alexandre "Mano" Polking, thereby helping to complete the professional structure of the police-backed team ahead of important objectives in the coming period.

According to an announcement from Hanoi Police FC, Paulo Mourinho has completed the necessary procedures and has begun working with the team.The 1987-born assistant is expected to serve as the first assistant coach, providing direct support to Coach Polking in tactical development, organizing training sessions, and professional management. The arrival of Mr. Mourinho is expected to help CAHN's coaching staff operate more effectively and have more options during match preparation.

Paulo Mourinho began his career as a player, but he had few opportunities to develop in professional football. He soon transitioned into coaching and started gaining experience at a relatively young age. At 21, Mourinho took charge of the U19 team of Ribeirense, before continuing to work at various clubs and youth academies in Portugal.

A notable turning point in Paulo Mourinho's career came in 2018, when he moved to Thailand and joined the coaching staff of Bangkok United. There, he began working as an assistant for Coach Mano Polking. Their time working together allowed the two to build a clear synergy in professional thinking, training methods, and player management.

After Coach Polking accepted the position to lead the Thailand national team, Paulo Mourinho chose to go to Australia to gain more experience in a new football environment. At the end of 2025, he returned to Thailand and joined Kanchanaburi FC as an assistant to Coach Wasapol. However, this journey did not last long, as the coaching staff was terminated by the club due to results that did not meet expectations in the final phase of the season.

The reunion with Coach Polking at Hanoi Police FC is seen as a favorable opportunity for Paulo Mourinho to quickly integrate into the work. With experience in multiple football environments and a deep understanding of the head coach, the Portuguese assistant is expected to play a key role in building playing style, improving training quality, and helping the police-backed team achieve positive results in the near future.
