2-1! The Czech star won the Wimbledon women's singles title for the first time in her career, and Paulini won back-to-back runners-up in Grand Slams

In the 2024 Wimbledon women's singles final that ended on the evening of July 13, Beijing time, No. 31 seed Krejcikova defeated No. 7 seed Paulini 2-1 after three sets to win the Wimbledon women's singles championship for the first time in her career, which is also her second Grand Slam women's singles title. The scores in the three sets were 6-2, 2-6 and 6-4.

The pair had only met in the first round of the 2018 Australian Open qualifiers, when Krejcikova defeated Paolini 6-2, 6-1. Six years later, the two met again, and the two went from the first round of the Grand Slam qualifiers to the final of the Grand Slam.

In the first set, Krejcikova took the lead, and she broke serve as soon as she came up. In the fifth game, she broke Paulini's serve again to build a 5-1 lead. In the end, Krejcikova easily won the first set 6-2.

But in the second set, Paolini launched a frantic counterattack. She broke first in the second game to take a 3-0 lead in the opening game. In the eighth game, Borini broke again on Krejcikova's unbreakable serve to win the set 6-2.

In the deciding set, the two sides played very fiercely. Krejcikova made a crucial break in the seventh game. In the end, Krejcikova withstood the pressure in the 10th set and saved two break points to win the service game, thus winning the deciding set 6-4 and beating Paulini 2-1.

Krejcikova won the Wimbledon women's singles title for the first time in her career, her second Grand Slam women's singles title since the 2021 French Open. And Paulini regretted that she reached the final of two consecutive Grand Slams, but she was runner-up.
