The Vietnamese national team passed a quality test against Yongin FC, securing a 2-1 overall victory.
On the afternoon of July 8, the Vietnamese national team played their second friendly match during their training camp in Incheon, South Korea, facing Yongin FC – a team competing in K.League 2. This match was considered a higher-quality test compared to the first game, allowing the coaching staff to continue evaluating the squad and refining their playing style ahead of the 2026 ASEAN Championship – ASEAN Championship.
The Vietnamese team once again demonstrated efficiency in transition situations. In the 9th minute, Nguyen Hai Long made the most of an opportunity inside the penalty area with a decisive finish, opening the scoring for the team.
Just before the end of the first half, Yongin FC capitalized on an attacking play to equalize in the 42nd minute. In the second half, head coach Kim Sang Sik made a full substitution to test additional personnel options. Both teams maintained a fast-paced, competitive match with intense duels.
In the 75th minute, Nguyen Xuan Son leaped high to head in a beautiful goal, sealing a 2-1 victory for the Vietnamese national team.More important than the result, the match provided the coaching staff with further practical insights into the team's tactical execution against a higher-quality opponent, while also testing the coordination among different player groups in various tactical setups.
