Singapore was beaten 0-2 by FC Ryukyu, a J.League 3 side, in the initial friendly of their training stint in Japan.
According to an official announcement from FC Ryukyu, the match took place at 6:00 PM on July 9th at the stadium within Okinawa General Sports Park. The two teams played two halves of 45 minutes each.
FC Ryukyu led 1-0 in the first half thanks to a goal by Yu Tomidokoro. In the second half, Yosuke Ueno added another goal, giving the Japanese club a final 2-0 victory over Singapore.

Singapore is holding a training camp in Okinawa from July 6 to 17 to prepare for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026. Coach Gavin Lee called up 24 players and chose Japanese opponents to test the team's adaptability in a high-intensity playing environment.
After the match against FC Ryukyu, Singapore will play two more friendlies against Okinawa SV and Albirex Niigata.
In the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026, Singapore is in Group A alongside defending champion Vietnam. According to the schedule, Vietnam will host Singapore on July 30th.
