During the training trip with the Vietnam national team, Coach Kim Sang Sik contributed 2 million won to two organizations focused on preventing juvenile crime in South Korea.
Not only did he lead the Vietnam national team to victory in a friendly match against Yongin FC, but Coach Kim Sang Sik also made a notable impact through a meaningful activity in his home country of South Korea. The 1976-born strategist took part in a volunteer program aimed at supporting juvenile crime prevention efforts, thereby spreading a message of community responsibility and safety culture.
As part of the event held on July 8 at a restaurant in Giheung District (Yongin City), Coach Kim Sang Sik donated a total of 2 million won—1 million won each—to the Suwon Regional Council for Juvenile Crime Prevention under the Korean Ministry of Justice and the Giheung Regional Committee. The ceremony was attended by the coaching staff, members of the Vietnam national team, and about 50 guests, including Suwon Regional Council Chairman Kim Ki Seok, Giheung Regional Committee Chairman Jeon Seong Hun, and Suwon Regional Council Executive Director Park Hang Young.
It is understood that Coach Kim Sang Sik's decision to contribute stemmed from his desire to help build a safer and happier environment for young people. Returning to a place where he spent many years, the South Korean coach could not hide his emotions as he took part in a socially meaningful activity while leading the Vietnam team's training camp.
Coach Kim Sang Sik shared: "I lived in Yongin for over 10 years and was always treated with kindness like family. I am very happy to have the chance to return to Yongin. I am delighted to join Chairman Kim Ki Seok, Chairman Jeon Seong Hun, and the members of the Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee in meaningful activities for young people."
In response to this goodwill, Chairman Kim Ki Seok expressed his appreciation for Coach Kim Sang Sik's contributions both on and off the field. He stated that he has been following the coach's journey with the Vietnam national team and praised the achievements of the "Golden Star Warriors" in recent times. The representative of the Suwon Regional Council also thanked Coach Kim Sang Sik for his donation to juvenile crime prevention efforts.
This meaningful activity took place right after the Vietnam national team beat Yongin FC 2-1 in a friendly match, thanks to goals from Hai Long and Xuan Son. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players will continue their training in Incheon before concluding the training camp with a clash against Gangwon FC on July 13. This is seen as the final warm-up before the team returns home to prepare for a friendly match with Myanmar and the defense of their ASEAN Championship 2026 title.
