Former Vietnam U23 goalkeeper joins the strongest V.League club.

The Hanoi Police Club has officially acquired goalkeeper Y Êli Niê as part of their ongoing squad upgrade to aim for retaining the V.League championship in the 2026/27 season.

After clinching the V.League 2025/26 title, Hanoi Police FC continues to demonstrate its great ambition for the new season by reinforcing its squad with quality. Recently, the police club officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Y Êli Niê, a player who made a significant impact while playing for Thanh Hóa and at various levels of Vietnam's youth national teams.

The goalkeeper, born in 2001, is considered a notable addition to the reigning champions' goal-keeping position. With a good physique, quick reflexes, and several seasons of experience in the V.League, Y Êli Niê is expected to create strong competition with the current goalkeepers, thereby giving head coach Mano Polking more options in his pursuit of the club's objectives for the 2026/27 season.

Goalkeeper Y Êli Niê has officially joined Hanoi Police FC.

Before moving to the capital club, Y Êli Niê was a key player for Thanh Hóa FC. Most notably, he delivered an outstanding performance in a match against Hanoi Police itself at Hàng Đẫy Stadium in May. On that occasion, the goalkeeper from Đắk Lắk made a series of saves that caused great difficulty for the opposing attack. It wasn't until the 86th minute that Mano Polking's team managed to score from a penalty kick, securing a narrow 1-0 victory and thereby clinching the V.League title three rounds early.

Y Êli Niê is also the latest newcomer in Hanoi Police's squad upgrade campaign. Earlier, the club had recruited Spanish midfielder Damià Sabater, a player who came through the Mallorca academy and had previously represented Spain's youth national teams. Additionally, multiple sources indicate that the Hàng Đẫy-based club is very close to finalizing a contract with striker Henen David Boris Philippe, a forward who played for Da Nang FC last season.

Not only aggressively shopping, but Hanoi Police also prioritized retaining key pillars. Nguyễn Filip and Nguyễn Đình Bắc have both extended their contracts until 2029. Earlier, Đoàn Văn Hậu, Trần Đình Trọng, and Lê Phạm Thành Long also committed to long-term stays, while Alan Grafite continues with the club until 2028. These moves help the defending champions maintain squad stability ahead of the new season.

The continuous acquisition of quality contracts demonstrates Hanoi Police's immense determination in their journey to defend the V.League title. With the arrival of Y Êli Niê and a series of other notable additions, Mano Polking's team is gradually perfecting its squad to compete on multiple fronts, including the V.League, the AFC Champions League Elite, and the ASEAN Shopee Cup.
