The Vietnam national team is finalizing its squad

The Vietnam national team continues to achieve positive results during its training camp in South Korea, defeating Yongin FC 2-1 on the afternoon of July 8. Xuan Son and Hai Long were the goal scorers for coach Kim Sang Sik's squad.

Coach Kim Sang Sik continued to use two different lineups, each playing one half, to assess the squad and tactical execution.

Yongin FC started actively and created significant pressure, but the Vietnam national team capitalized better on opportunities. In the 9th minute, Hai Long fired decisively inside the box to open the scoring. The Hanoi FC midfielder later set up Van Cuong, but the opposing goalkeeper managed to save.

Yongin FC equalized 1-1 in the 42nd minute, before Xuan Son made his mark in the second half. In the 75th minute, the naturalized striker leaped high to head home, securing a 2-1 victory for the Vietnam national team.

This is the second consecutive win for coach Kim Sang Sik's team in South Korea, following a 6-0 victory over Siheung FC.

On July 13, the Vietnam national team will face Gangwon FC in their final friendly match, continuing to refine the squad ahead of the AFF Hyundai Cup 2026.

Thai Son Bac strengthens their top position in the National Championship

Thai Son Bac affirmed their dominance in the race for the HDBank National Futsal Championship 2026 title after a 3-1 win over Sahako in the 11th round.

Thai Son Bac unexpectedly conceded in the 3rd minute. Foreign player Marco Antonio Moreira scored to give Sahako the lead.

After a difficult start, the capital team gradually regained control of the game. In the 13th minute, Thac Hieu leveled the score. By the 17th minute, Da Hai scored to put Thai Son Bac ahead 2-1.

The players stated that the 2025/26 National First Division season ended over a month ago, but the agreed payments have not yet been made.

Quang Ninh Club confirmed the situation and said they are actively seeking solutions to resolve it. The team also hopes for support and cooperation to sustain operations in the coming period.

Financial difficulties could directly impact preparations for the 2026/27 season. If funding sources are not secured soon, Quang Ninh Club will face obstacles in renewing or signing contracts with the coaching staff and players, thereby risking participation in next season's First Division.

Hong Linh Ha Tinh trials 3 overseas Vietnamese players

Hong Linh Ha Tinh is currently trialing three overseas Vietnamese players as they prepare their squad for the 2026/27 V-League season.

Hong Lac Luong Thanh, born in 2006, is currently registered with Jahn Regensburg II in Germany. The 1.83m player can fill multiple defensive positions such as left-back, center-back, and right-back.

Ian Mai, an overseas Vietnamese player from the USA, born in 2004. The 1.78m defender developed through the LAFC and San Diego Loyal academy systems before moving to Europe to play for FC Ordino in Andorra. Ian Mai specializes as a right-back but can also play on the left flank or as a midfielder.

Kalvin Luong, born in 2002, is a French overseas Vietnamese player who operates in attack. Standing at 1.81m, Kalvin can play as a center forward or an attacking midfielder.
