The head coach of the Vietnamese national football team, Kim Sang Sik, participated in a volunteer effort focused on youth crime prevention and spreading a culture of safety in the community.
Yesterday, July 8th, at a restaurant in Giheung District, Yongin City, Coach Kim Sang Sik donated 1 million won each to the Suwon Regional Council for Youth Crime Prevention under the Korean Ministry of Justice and the Giheung Regional Committee, totaling 2 million won.
Attending the event were Coach Kim Sang Sik, the players and coaching staff of the Vietnamese national team, along with about 50 people, including Suwon Regional Council Chairman Kim Ki Seok, Giheung Regional Committee Chairman Jeon Seong Hun, and Suwon Regional Council Executive Director Park Hang Young.

It is known that Coach Kim Sang Sik decided to contribute because he wanted to join hands in activities for the happiness and safety of young people.
The Vietnamese national team has been training in South Korea from July 2nd to 14th to prepare for the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026. Before attending the event, the entire team played a friendly match against Yongin FC.
Coach Kim Sang Sik shared: "I lived in Yongin for over 10 years and was always treated kindly like family. I am very happy to have the chance to return to Yongin. I am delighted to join meaningful activities for youth alongside Chairman Kim Ki Seok, Chairman Jeon Seong Hun, and the members of the Youth Crime Prevention Committee."
In response, Chairman Kim Ki Seok said: "We regularly follow Coach Kim Sang Sik's activities through the media. I am very proud to see the Vietnamese national team achieving good results under his guidance.
On behalf of the Suwon Regional Council, I would like to thank Coach Kim Sang Sik for his contribution to youth crime prevention."
In the friendly match on the afternoon of July 8th, the Vietnamese national team won 2-1 against Yongin FC, with goals from Hai Long and Xuan Son.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese national team will continue training in Incheon before their final friendly match against Gangwon FC, a team currently playing in K.League 1, on July 13th. This will be the last test for Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players before returning home to prepare for the international friendly against Myanmar and the defense of their ASEAN Championship title in 2026.
