The two teams previously faced off in the U17 Asian Cup on May 20th, where the U17 national team defeated Australia 2-0 in the semifinals to advance to the final. Shuai Weihao broke the deadlock for the U17 side, while Xie Jin sealed the victory in stoppage time.

In this edition of the U17 Yinchuan International Youth Football Championship, besides the U17 national team and Australia, two strong African teams, Tanzania and Nigeria, are also participating.

A total of 24 players are taking part in this training camp, including key players such as Zhou Yunuo, Zhao Songyuan, and Pan Chaowei, who helped the team secure the runner-up position in the U17 Asian Cup.

Additionally, two elite players from the 2010 age group U16 national team, Yuan Bohan and Zhang Lindong, have been added to the U17 national team's current training camp roster. Meanwhile, Wan Xiang, who plays in the Serbian league, was not called up.
