Bournemouth's Alex Scott is a midfield option Manchester United are eyeing next, yet the club plans to renew the 22-year-old English midfielder's contract, having rejected Arsenal's approach. Scott's existing agreement runs for two more years, and the new terms proposed by the club feature a buyout clause that won't take effect until after this summer.

Some reports speculate that if Bournemouth cannot reach an agreement with Scott on a contract extension, they might be forced to sell, with an estimated asking price around £80 million. However, the BBC reports that "the Cherries" insist they will not sell this summer, no matter what happens, even if a new deal cannot be finalized.
BBC's Nizar Kinsella revealed that Bournemouth made their first new contract offer to Scott in March and updated the terms in April. Even if Scott continues to refuse, the club does not plan to sell immediately; with two years left on his contract, they have plenty of time to continue negotiations, and Scott may have to stay with the team next season.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs confirmed a similar situation, but he emphasized that other Premier League clubs will still test Bournemouth's resolve, and it is well known that Arsenal are also interested in Scott.
Jacobs said: "Bournemouth have made it clear to Scott that they do not intend to sell him. It is understood that a new contract was proposed in March and April, and negotiations are expected to continue this summer. Whether Scott signs a new deal with a release clause or continues with his current contract, Bournemouth is content. Manchester United are considering Scott. Arsenal are also monitoring him, and Andrea Berta has already attempted to contact Bournemouth but was told he is not for sale. Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in Scott. In the coming days, clubs will test Bournemouth."

But in any case, Manchester United's envisioned £60 million deal for Scott is almost certainly unattainable. The value of midfielders has already risen following the transfers of Elliot Anderson (£116 million), Matheus Fernandes (£85 million), and Sandro Tonali (£100 million).
Lille president Olivier Létang spoke over the weekend about the transfer price of Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 19-year-old is also a target for Premier League giants such as Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United. The Lille chief hinted that Bouaddi, who caught attention at the World Cup, would be priced at €100 million.
Létang explained: "Seeing Anderson move to Manchester City for £116 million and Tonali join Tottenham for £100 million, yet they don't have the development potential of Ayyoub (Bouaddi). He has unique talent. I have a price in mind, and we'll see what happens next."
Manchester United have yet to officially announce any signings, but a month ago the club had already secured Atalanta's Brazilian international Ederson, who temporarily cannot complete the transfer because he was called up as a replacement for Brazil's World Cup squad. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Ederson deal has no complications and no additional payment will be added.

"Manchester United have reached a verbal agreement with Atalanta; the two clubs closed the deal a month ago," Romano said. "But they have to wait for Ederson to travel to England to complete the second phase of his medical with Manchester United before the formalities can be finalized. The clubs have a verbal agreement, and the relevant documents are ready. The first part of the medical check has been completed, and now they are waiting for the second part, which will be officially arranged by Manchester United. That's why the news of Ederson's transfer to Manchester United has not yet been officially announced."
