Vietnam national team holds first training session in South Korea

This afternoon, the Vietnam national team will have its first training session in South Korea during their training camp in preparation for the 2026 ASEAN Cup.

The Vietnamese team will train in South Korea until July 14. During this period, Coach Kim Sang-sik and his players will play three friendly matches against opponents arranged in increasing difficulty, including Siheung FC (K.League 3) on July 5, Yongin FC (K.League 2) on July 8, and Gangwon FC (K.League 1) on July 13.

This is an important phase for the coaching staff to continue reviewing the squad, evaluating player form, and finalizing tactical plans before the team returns home to prepare for an international friendly against Myanmar on July 18, and embarks on the journey to defend their ASEAN Cup 2026 championship title.

Thai Nguyen prepares to establish a professional men's football club

On July 2, at the headquarters of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Nguyen Linh chaired a meeting with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related units to deploy the plan to establish a professional men's football club, aiming to participate in the National First Division in the near future.

According to the orientation, the club will be built on a professional model, meeting criteria regarding organization, finance, facilities, youth training, and personnel according to Vietnamese professional football regulations. Functional units are assigned to develop the project, complete operational plans, and mobilize socialized resources to realize the goal soon.

Thai Nguyen is one of the localities that has contributed significantly to Vietnamese football, regularly hosting national tournaments and investing in the development of women's football.

The promotion of the establishment of a professional men's football club is expected to create more momentum for local football, while opening an opportunity for Thai Nguyen to be present in the national professional football league system.

Thep Xanh Nam Dinh Club continues to strengthen its squad for the 2026/27 season by officially announcing three new signings: goalkeeper Trinh Xuan Hoang, defender Dam Tien Dung, and midfielder Tran Manh Quynh.

In the goalkeeper position, Trinh Xuan Hoang (born 2000) stands at 1.84m tall, has 66 professional appearances, and 12 clean sheets. Meanwhile, center-back Dam Tien Dung is highly regarded for his experience and solid defensive abilities, promising to strengthen the defense of the Nam Dinh team.
