Quang Hải experiences a turning point in his coaching career

Former Vietnam national team striker Nguyễn Quang Hải is participating in an AFC A-level coaching certification program.

On the morning of July 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) held the opening ceremony for the AFC/VFF A-level Coaching Course, Phase 1 of 2026.

The course runs from July 1 to 14, bringing together 24 trainees selected from an entrance assessment held in both the Northern and Southern regions. This is also the only A-level coaching course organized by the VFF in 2026.

Attending the opening ceremony were HFF Vice President Ngô Lê Bằng, HFF General Secretary Trần Đình Huấn, VFF Technical Director Koshida Takeshi, and former national team player Lê Huỳnh Đức, who will serve as an instructor.

Speaking at the ceremony, VFF Technical Director Koshida Takeshi stated that the A-level certification course is designed at a high professional level, aiming to develop a team of coaches capable of leading and advancing Vietnamese football in the future. To enhance training quality, the VFF held an entrance selection exam for the first time, choosing 24 outstanding trainees from 33 applicants.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi also expressed hope that the course participants are not only pursuing the certificate but also carry a desire to contribute to the development of Vietnamese football. Additionally, the VFF aims to build a domestic team of instructors, with coach Lê Huỳnh Đức expected to become an instructor for future coaching courses.

This year's course brings together many experienced coaches such as Đoàn Thị Kim Chi, Châu Trí Cường, Nguyễn Quang Hải, along with numerous coaches currently working at professional clubs across the country.

According to the plan, after completing Phase 1, the trainees will submit their reports and complete practical components before moving on to Phase 2 of the course.
