At 10:20 AM today, coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad will fly to Incheon (South Korea) for a training camp in preparation for the 2026 ASEAN Cup.

Players recovering from injuries, such as Do Duy Manh, Khuat Van Khang, and Ngoc Bao, are showing positive signs. Coach Kim Sang Sik hopes they will return to training soon during the training camp in South Korea.

During the training camp in South Korea from July 2 to July 14, the Vietnam national team will play three friendly matches against opponents from K.League 3, K.League 2, and K.League 1, gradually increasing the difficulty. This will help the coaching staff assess the squad, evaluate player form, and finalize tactical plans before the 2026 ASEAN Cup.

After the training camp in South Korea, the Vietnam national team will return to Hanoi to complete final preparations through an international friendly match against Myanmar on July 18 at Thai Nguyen Stadium.

This will be a crucial dress rehearsal before coach Kim Sang Sik's team embarks on their title defense in the 2026 ASEAN Cup, starting with an away match against Timor Leste.

Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club has officially secured direct entry into the group stage of the 2026/27 AFC Women's Champions League, the most prestigious club competition in Asian women's football.

The Vietnamese representative received a special slot from the AFC thanks to reaching the quarterfinals in the previous season. This is a well-deserved reward for the reigning champions of the Vietnamese National Women's Football Championship, and it also allows HCMC Women's Club to skip the qualifying rounds, giving them more time to prepare for the continental campaign.

The draw for the qualifying rounds of the 2026/27 AFC Women's Champions League took place on July 2 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This year's tournament features 30 teams, with 24 competing in the qualifying rounds to determine the remaining 6 spots in the group stage.

Alongside HCMC Women's Club, five other teams have direct entry to the group stage: Naegohyang (DPR Korea), Melbourne City (Australia), Hwacheon KSPO (South Korea), INAC Kobe Leonessa (Japan), and Beijing Jingtan (China).

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held the closing ceremony of the first Sports Medicine in Football and Anti-Doping Training Course in 2026 after two days at Vinmec Smart City Hospital (Hanoi). The program attracted over 100 participants, including medical staff from national teams, professional clubs, football training centers, and sports organizations nationwide.

The course focused on practical topics such as assessing and managing football injuries, criteria for returning to training and competition after injury, application of regenerative medicine, player fitness evaluation, treatment of overuse conditions, and updates on new anti-doping regulations and control procedures according to international standards.

According to the VFF, the training course aims to enhance the professional capacity of medical staff, standardize player healthcare, and meet the growing demands of professional football.

It also serves as an opportunity for doctors and medical staff to exchange practical experiences, strengthen professional connections, and move toward building a modern sports medicine system that supports the sustainable development of Vietnamese football.
