The Indonesian Parliament (DPR RI) has formally passed the naturalization requests of two Indonesian-descent players, Luke Vickery and Mitchell Baker, opening the door for them to represent Indonesia in the 2026 Asean Cup.
Luke Vickery is currently under contract with Macarthur FC (Australia), while Mitchell Baker plays for Georgetown University's team (USA).
During the plenary session held on June 30, the Indonesian Parliament reviewed four agenda items, including the approval of the citizenship proposal for the two aforementioned players.

Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that the House leadership had received two documents, numbered R26 and R27, from the Indonesian President dated June 11, 2026, regarding the proposal to grant Indonesian citizenship to Mitchell Baker and Luke Vickery.
After receiving parliamentary approval, Vickery and Baker have taken another significant step in their journey to become Indonesian citizens.
However, both still need to complete the remaining procedures, including the Indonesian President signing the citizenship decree (Keppres), taking the citizenship oath, and finalizing the federation transfer to the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) in accordance with FIFA regulations.
According to Indonesian media, Luke Vickery and Mitchell Baker are expected to feature in the Indonesian national team roster for the 2026 Asean Cup, which runs from July 24 to August 26.
At the 2026 Asean Cup, the Indonesian national team is placed in Group A alongside opponents Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, and Timor Leste.
The archipelago nation's team will host Vietnam and Cambodia at home, while traveling to face Singapore and Timor Leste in the group stage.
