Details of Manchester United's negotiations with Rashford revealed! He rejected a Premier League transfer, forcing the Red Devils to abandon plans for a left winger.

Manchester United's starlet Marcus Rashford remains involved in the World Cup, yet the club engaged in constructive dialogue with his brother and representatives this week, opening the door for a possible collaboration next season. The 28-year-old English wide player might return to the Red Devils' squad, sporting the same No. 14 kit he wore at Barcelona.

Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano stated: "Manchester United have established direct communication with Rashford's team, and the talks were cordial. The club welcomes Rashford back for training, and Rashford is willing to begin preseason preparations under Carrick. Although there is no guarantee he will stay, as other clubs may make offers in the future, this undoubtedly represents a crucial step in rebuilding trust."

Rashford will return for preseason training at Carrington approximately three weeks after England's World Cup campaign ends, and according to the schedule, he is expected to be back in early August.

At that point, Rashford will rejoin the first-team squad and will no longer be barred from entry, as new regulations prevent Premier League clubs from refusing players access to the dressing room or joint training sessions.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Rashford could feature in some of United's six preseason friendlies, and even play in the Premier League season opener on August 22. This marks a dramatic 180-degree shift from earlier predictions that he was certain to leave.

During his loan spell at Barcelona, Rashford scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in one season, yet the club declined a €30 million buy option and surprisingly spent €80 million on Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. Even so, many had assumed Rashford would never play for United again.

However, some now believe that after negotiations with United, Rashford might remain at Old Trafford beyond the summer transfer window. The talks resulted in an agreement for him to return for preseason, laying the foundation for renewed collaboration. If circumstances remain unchanged, United are considering having Rashford back with the team next season.

After Rashford's loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona ended without permanent moves, United are reluctant to agree to a third loan. Rashford himself wanted to stay at Camp Nou, but Barcelona only sought another one-year loan, while United refuse to negotiate further with "that La Liga club."

Of course, things could still change if new offers emerge. A Premier League club is interested in Rashford, but his brother Dwayne Maynard has informed the club that he will not consider moving to another Premier League side; if he stays in England, he will honor the final two years of his contract with United.

With United back in the Champions League, Rashford will earn £325,000 per week, now the highest wage at the club since Casemiro's contract expired on July 1 and he officially left, and captain Bruno Fernandes earns £300,000 per week.

If Rashford returns to United's first team, it will be his first direct contact with teammates in 12 months. Last summer, Ruben Amorim included him among the "five rats" in the dressing room, forcing him to use separate changing facilities and training grounds.

United had hoped to strengthen their left wing this summer, considering Everton's Iliman Ndiaye and West Ham's Crysencio Summerville, but these plans may be completely shelved if Rashford chooses to stay at the club.

United will not sign a left winger because Rashford can compete with Matheus Cunha for that position, along with Patrick Dorgu, who can also drop back to left-back, allowing United to abandon a left-back signing as well. Rashford often played as a center-forward at Barcelona, so United might also forgo signing a new striker.

In that case, United could redirect the funds originally intended for a left winger and striker to further strengthen their midfield. So far, United have only signed Brazilian international Ederson from Atalanta, while Matheus Fernandes was snatched by Tottenham. Meanwhile, Manuel Ugarte has suffered a serious knee injury and may miss the entire next season, so Carrick needs more midfielders.
