Juventus' recruitment is truly baffling: a player valued at €20 million requires a €40 million buyout clause, yet he scored only one goal in the Premier League last season.

Juventus may be one of the few wealthy clubs in Serie A, but the Bianconeri's transfer dealings have been a complete mess, and this summer's window seems to be adding another confusing chapter.

According to the latest report from French media Footmercato, the future of French striker Randal Kolo Muani has become clear, as Juventus is very close to reaching an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for his transfer.

It is reported that the deal is structured as a loan with a mandatory buy option, with the buyout fee set at €40 million—double the player's current market value of €20 million, which is also the amount Paris is seeking. Juventus and PSG are close to an agreement, and the Bianconeri are expected to finalize the deal in the coming days. This means Kolo Muani could be present for Juventus' training session on July 13, and the French forward may return to Serie A for the new season.

Kolo Muani came through the youth academy of Nantes. Eintracht Frankfurt signed him on a free transfer in the summer of 2022. Just one year later, in the summer of 2023, Paris spent €95 million to bring him in, but he failed to live up to expectations. He was subsequently loaned to Juventus and Tottenham, and his market value has plummeted from €80 million to €20 million.

Now 27 years old, Kolo Muani stands 1.87 meters tall and is a right-footed forward capable of playing both as a center-forward and on the wing. Last season, he made 30 Premier League appearances for Tottenham, 21 of which were starts, totaling 1,672 minutes on the pitch, but he scored only one goal—a remarkably poor scoring rate. However, in the Champions League, he scored four goals in nine appearances, five of which were starts.

It is truly bewildering that Juventus would spend €40 million to bring in a striker valued at €20 million who scored just one goal in the Premier League. The Bianconeri seem to be spending money while their results continue to decline, and this is directly linked to their chaotic recruitment strategy.
