The Brazilian striker Kaina Nunes has signed with Thai club Phrae United following his departure from Bac Ninh FC.
After the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, Brazilian striker Kaina Nunes officially bid farewell to Bac Ninh FC to embark on a new chapter in his career. The next stop for the 1.96-meter-tall striker is Phrae United, a team competing in Thailand's Thai League 2.
Kaina Nunes joined Bac Ninh FC in August 2025 with high expectations of becoming the spearhead of the attack for the Kinh Bac team. Possessing a height of 1.96 meters and impressive aerial ability, the 1997-born striker was considered a suitable fit for the playing style that coach Paulo Foiani built in Bac Ninh FC's first season in the First Division.
Before coming to Vietnam, Kaina Nunes played for several clubs in Europe and Asia, gaining experience in various environments. Notably, he played for Iran's Esteghlal Khuzestan and made his mark in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, including scoring against a Turkish representative. It was these experiences that led Bac Ninh FC to place great expectations on the Brazilian striker.
However, reality did not unfold as hoped. After half a season, Kaina Nunes was no longer part of the tactical plans and was removed from the registration list. Although the club did not disclose the reason, many believe that the Brazilian striker failed to meet the professional requirements and expectations of the coaching staff. Nevertheless, Bac Ninh FC kept him until the end of the season as recognition for his contributions during his time with the team.
Immediately after the season ended, Kaina Nunes decided to seek a new challenge by signing with Phrae United. The Thai League 2 side is aiming to compete in the new season and expects the Brazilian striker's international experience to significantly bolster their attacking strength.
Closing the short period with Bac Ninh FC, Kaina Nunes opens a new chapter in his career in Thai football. With an ideal physique, experience playing in multiple countries, and a desire to prove himself, the 28-year-old striker is expected to quickly regain his form and become a key figure for Phrae United in the 2026/27 season.
