A look back at Thailand U19's dominant performance against Brunei

Thailand U19 achieved a remarkable 9-0 win against Brunei in their debut game of the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.

Thailand U19 started with great enthusiasm and quickly established a dominant position against Brunei U19. In the 7th minute, Itthimon capitalized on a defensive error from the opponents to slot the ball into the net, opening the scoring for the Land of Smiles. They maintained constant pressure, and in the final ten-plus minutes of the first half, Pattaratron netted a hat-trick in the 24th, 26th, and 36th minutes, pushing Thailand U19 to a 4-0 lead.

Just before the first half ended, Thailand U19 was awarded a penalty after a Brunei player handled the ball inside the box. From the spot, Pichaiya calmly beat goalkeeper Hakeem, sending his team into halftime with a five-goal advantage.

In the second half, Thailand U19 did not slow down their attacking pace. Siwakorn scored a brace in the 49th and 52nd minutes, extending the lead to 7-0. In the 69th minute, Kongnat got his name on the scoresheet with a finish inside the box. Before the match concluded, Natthakit took advantage of a well-placed cross from Kongnat to seal a resounding 9-0 victory for Thailand U19 on the opening day.
