Ibrahima Konate is set to sign a four-year contract with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid is nearing the acquisition of defender Ibrahima Konate, having achieved key milestones in talks with the France international.

Multiple sources in Europe indicate that both sides have largely agreed on personal terms, with only a few final details remaining before the deal is officially announced.

Konate has just concluded his time with Liverpool after failing to reach a contract extension agreement. This means the 27-year-old defender will leave on a free transfer, becoming one of the most notable free agents on the summer market.

According to sources close to the deal, Real Madrid has been monitoring Konate for months. Initially, the 1999-born player's priority was to stay at Anfield. However, prolonged negotiations with Liverpool ultimately did not yield the desired outcome, paving the way for the Spanish club to approach and quickly gain the upper hand.
