Who is Hoàng Công Hậu, the young star who scored a hat-trick for U19 Vietnam?

U19 Vietnam began the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship with a convincing 3-0 win against U19 Timor Leste, with Hoàng Công Hậu netting three goals. Who is this emerging talent?

Công Hậu is a fellow native of Hoàng Đức, having developed together at Thể Công Viettel.

The emphatic victory over U19 Timor Leste not only gave U19 Vietnam an advantage in the standings but also put Hoàng Công Hậu in the spotlight. After the outstanding performance of the number 9 striker, many fans have become curious about this young face seen as one of the hopes of Vietnamese football.

Hoàng Công Hậu was born in 2007 and grew up in the Hải Dương Province Sports Training and Competition Center, which has nurtured many quality young players for clubs and national teams. From his early training years, he quickly showed potential as a striker with a remarkable goal-scoring ability.

A key turning point in Công Hậu's career came when he joined Viettel Club, now known as Thể Công Viettel. The professional training environment helped him develop rapidly in both skills and tactical thinking.

At the 2023 National U17 Finals, Công Hậu was a crucial player for U17 Viettel on their path to the title. The young striker contributed many valuable goals, helping the army team defeat U17 Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh 4-2 in the final to claim the championship.
