
Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation Nguyen Minh Chau, Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized: The National U17 Football Championship is an important platform that helps young players train and gain experience, while also discovering many potential talents for national youth teams. The fact that the Vietnam U17 team qualified for the FIFA U17 World Cup 2026 for the first time further confirms the right direction of Vietnamese football in youth development.
The qualifying round of the 2026 National U17 Football Championship features 28 teams from clubs, training centers, and sports schools nationwide, including: An Giang, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Police, Ho Chi Minh City Football Club, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Nutifood Football Academy, Hai Phong, Hue, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Lam Dong, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Ninh Binh, PVF, PVF-CAND, Quang Ngai, SHB Da Nang, Song Lam Nghe An, Tay Ninh, The Cong Viettel I, The Cong Viettel II, Gia Lai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, Khanh Hoa Sports Training and Education Center, Thong Nhat Sports Center, Nam Dinh Green Steel, and Vinh Long.
According to the tournament regulations, the 28 teams are divided into 5 groups, playing a double round-robin to determine rankings. The opening matches will officially begin on June 16, at the host venues. After the qualifying round ends (on July 9), the 5 group winners, 5 runners-up, and the best third-placed team will qualify for the final round of the 2026 National U17 Football Championship.
