It sounds unbelievable, but it's true: a player can lift two different European club trophies in one season. Crystal Palace's Evan Guessan, a 24-year-old right winger from Ivory Coast, achieved this feat by winning the Europa Conference League with Palace and the Europa League with Aston Villa, having been at Villa in the first half of the season and then loaned to Palace for the second half.

Evan Guessan came through the youth ranks at Nice and joined Aston Villa in the 2025 summer transfer window for €30 million. After just half a season, he was loaned out to Crystal Palace in the winter window, making him the first player ever to win two different European trophies in the same season.

Now 24 years old, Guessan is a right-footed winger who can also play on the left or as a striker. Standing at 1.88 m, he is currently valued at €28 million by Transfermarkt and remains under contract with Aston Villa until 2030. This season, he made seven appearances in the Europa League for Villa (six starts, two goals), enough to earn a medal. After his loan to Crystal Palace, he played six Europa Conference League matches (four starts, one goal), also qualifying for a medal. As a result, Evan Guessan has become the first player ever to win both the Europa League and the Europa Conference League in the same season—an unprecedented achievement in football.
