This is no small challenge, but it lies entirely within the capability of the 54‑year‑old strategist. Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem once lifted Hanoi FC to great heights with three V‑League titles, two National Cups, and three Super Cups.
However, that was a period when Mr. Hien's team dominated the league, and the coach's role was largely overshadowed. Evidence came when Chu Dinh Nghiem left in early April 2021 after Hanoi FC endured a poor run, forcing the Thanh Hoa‑born coach to resign.
After parting ways with Hanoi FC, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem moved to Haiphong and turned the port‑city club into a genuine force, most notably finishing as runners‑up in the 2022 V‑League. This achievement proves he is a domestic tactician capable of competing with foreign coaches.
During that same period, Hanoi FC won the V‑League only once (2022). The team has not added many notable honors since Chu Dinh Nghiem left, despite investing even more heavily with greater ambitions. Hanoi FC clearly fell behind the powerhouses of CAHN, Nam Dinh, and others.
Many Hanoi FC fans regret losing a manager of real substance. Compared to many peers who enjoyed only 3‑5 brilliant seasons before fading away, his 10 years of experience in two completely different environments is enough to measure the true caliber of the name Chu Dinh Nghiem.

At his new club, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem enjoys absolute trust from the board. After changing three coaches in a single season, Ninh Binh needs stability and a clear philosophy.
Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem's immediate task is to help foreign striker Fred Friday find the net consistently, just as he did at Haiphong in the first half of the season. With a solid foundation of quality players and strong investment from the leadership, Ninh Binh has every reason to dream of a higher status in the coming seasons.
Coach Chu Dinh Nghiemis no stranger to pressure. FromHanoito Haiphong, he has repeatedly proven his composure. Now, with a three‑year contract at Ninh Binh, he has an ideal environment to realize his ambition of building a team with its own identity and competing on equal footing with the "big boys."
If Ninh Binh surpassesHanoi FCto finish in the overall top three this season, it will be yet another statement from Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem.
