HCMC Women's Club reaffirmed its dominance by successfully defending the 2026 Women's National Cup after a thrilling penalty shootout win over Hanoi I in the final. With no goals scored in 90 minutes of tense play, the match went straight to penalties, where the defending champions showed their composure, winning 3-0 convincingly.
The match was tightly contested and featured several tense moments. Hanoi I applied heavy pressure with an aggressive pressing game, while HCMC opted for a cautious approach, focusing on defensive solidity. Coach Đoàn Thị Kim Chi's team maintained their composure and kept cool heads during difficult phases.
In the shootout, Hanoi I's players missed their attempts repeatedly. Meanwhile, Hồng Nhung, Thùy Trang, and Huỳnh Như all converted their kicks, with Huỳnh Như taking the final penalty to secure the championship for HCMC Women's Club.

In the earlier third-place match, Thai Nguyen T&T defeated Phong Phu Ha Nam by a narrow 1-0 margin to claim the bronze medal. The hot weather significantly affected the quality of play, and both teams were cautious. The turning point came in the 49th minute when Bich Thuy dribbled past three opponents before setting up Ngoc Minh Chuyen for the only goal of the match. This victory allowed Thai Nguyen T&T to finish the tournament in third place.
