MU is closing in on their first contract of Summer 2026

MU are closing in on securing their first signing of the 2026 summer window. Atalanta’s Ederson is believed to have agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.

Manchester United have moved closer to signing Brazilian midfielder Éderson after recent developments in the transfer market. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, United have reached an agreement on personal terms with the Atalanta player. The 26-year-old midfielder is also said to have put all other offers on hold while waiting for a final decision from Old Trafford.

MU have reached a personal agreement with Ederson

"Éderson is waiting for Man United to decide whether and when they want to proceed with this deal, which involves a transfer package worth €45 million (£38 million) to Atalanta," journalist Romano wrote.

"United still need to give the final nod, as the club has several other midfield targets and must approve this deal before moving further... Ederson is waiting for the 'Red Devils'," journalist Romano confirmed.

Meanwhile, information from The Sun suggests the two clubs are negotiating a deal worth around £38 million. If a fee is agreed, Éderson could become the first signing under manager Michael Carrick’s official tenure at Old Trafford, and is seen as a direct replacement for Casemiro after the Brazilian midfielder left the club.

Signs that Éderson might leave Atalanta are becoming clearer. In the crucial Serie A match against Fiorentina, he unexpectedly sat on the bench for the entire game. Coach Raffaele Palladino later confirmed that the decision was related to transfer movements, and acknowledged that having a player pursued by top clubs is a source of pride.

Since joining Atalanta from Salernitana in 2022, Éderson has made 180 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 6 assists for the Italian club.
