Kvaratskhelia will determine PSG's Champions League title in the 2025/26 season.

Having soared through the knockout rounds with peak performances, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is seen as the versatile linchpin that will help PSG overcome Arsenal and retain their Champions League title.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is enjoying the most impressive season of his career while playing for Paris Saint-Germain. Ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal, the Georgian star is regarded as PSG's biggest game-changer.

It's no coincidence that Napoli fans once called him “Kvaradona.” From his early breakout days in Serie A, Kvaratskhelia was renowned for his mesmerizing dribbling technique, unpredictable ball control, and incredible efficiency in one-on-one situations.

After joining PSG in January 2025, the Georgian player wasted no time proving his worth. Under coach Luis Enrique, Kvaratskhelia has evolved from an attacking artist into one of Europe's most complete footballers.

This season of the Champions League has witnessed the immense influence of the 25-year-old star. He has scored or assisted in seven consecutive knockout matches, a feat never before seen in the competition's history.

Specifically in the 2025/26 Champions League, Kvaratskhelia has been directly involved in 16 goals, matching Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe. Notably, 10 of those goal contributions came during the knockout stage.

One of the most memorable moments was his assist for Ousmane Dembele's goal against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. Within seconds, Kvaratskhelia sprinted over 60 meters from his own half before delivering the decisive pass for Dembele to score.

That was the perfect image of Kvaratskhelia under Luis Enrique: fast, direct, creative, and extremely effective.

However, what PSG values most about him is his tactical sacrifice. Unlike his time at Napoli, Kvaratskhelia now participates much more in defense. Coach Luis Enrique once remarked: “He has excellent defensive ability; we need all eleven players to defend together.”

Kvaratskhelia himself acknowledges the big change in his playing style: “Technically, I was just as good at Napoli. But I have improved a lot in defense under Luis Enrique.”

Thanks to his intense pressing and constant defensive support, Kvaratskhelia helps PSG maintain a very stable tactical balance. This allows players like Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi to push forward more aggressively.

As PSG aim to defend their Champions League title, the role of “Kvaradona” becomes especially crucial. Arsenal have a very solid defense, but Kvaratskhelia's ability to create something out of nothing could be the difference in a big match.

If PSG triumph in Budapest, that final night could well be another stage reserved for the jewel from Georgia.
